A member asked:

Does an mra of the chest use radiation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Technically yes: MRI uses electro-magnetic fields which are technically a type of low energy "radiation". There is severe risk if there is metal in the body such as a sliver from an eye injury or some implants. Clinically concerning radiation is much higher energy and related to x rays, gamma rays, proton or particle therapies, etc. This energy is enough to cause DNA damage.
