Yes : Yes this is potentially good news and is possible. Close follow up with your gastroenterologist is recommended. Barrett's esophagus is a change in the type of lining of the lower esophagus which increases the risk of esophageal cancer arising from that lining. It is due to chronic acid reflux whether or not you have symptoms of heart burn. There are many effective ways of dealing with Barrett's.
