Facet osteoarthritis: Studies show that the differential diagnosis of facet joint osteoarthritis (FJOA) includes Rheumatoid Arthritis, which rarely affects the lumbar spine, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, adult degenerative scoliosis, and spondylolisthesis. The most probable contributing factors in the lumbar spine are degenerative disc disease and spondylolisthesis. At 21, L FJOA may be related to spondylolysis.
