Desvenlafaxine may: have significant withdrawal effects and usually slow taper is best. As you note, Exsira is slow release and can not be halved. Some people may be able to taper by taking it every other day. Others may ask their prescriber to provide short-acting venlafaxine with lowest dose being a scored 25 mg as this will allow a slow taper. Best regards for a successful taper.
