Specializes in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

DDAVP (desmopressin): Given at bedtime and intranasal and without administration of evening fluids. A trial before camp would be a good plan. All the best.

Diuretics make U pee: DDAVP (desmopressin) is a brain hormone which causes the kidney to retain water (not let you make pee). It comes in a pill or nose spray but has a variable success rate of about 60%. Imipramine is an antidepressant that can be used at low doses to slow urine production. It is given in the evening and also has a variable effect.Discuss the issue with the kids doc, it is rater common.
