What are kinds of bowel movements should my formula-fed baby have?

Soft, formed, brown: Formula-fed babies will typically have soft, formed, usually brown stools. Hard, black, green, runny, white, tarry, red, or other variations should be discussed with you pediatrician.

Soft, yellowish poop: Formula-fed babies older than a week should have yellowish poops at least as thick as mustard or thick spaghetti sauce. Breastfeeding babies can have looser poops. Formula-fed babies tend to have firmer poops, but poop that holds shape could be too firm for the first 3-4 months of life. Poop gets darker, with brown/green colors blended in, and also gets firmer, as a baby gets older.
