Apnea?: If he snores he may also have apnea in which case an sleep screen and ENT evaluation is warranted. Otherwise, large tonsils are often best left alone because he will "grow into them" He probably also has adenoids which can cause nasal congestion and mouth breathing so allergy treatment is usually ineffective.
