Nail injury: If the crack is in only one toe nail it is possible from unnoticed injury, if happens in other toes and finger nails have yourself examined to out any underlying systemic problems.

Between the Cracks.: Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about the crack now. If others start, then you might seek an evaluation. Nails can crack for a multitude of reasons and finding the appropriate one is sometimes trying.
