Doctor can check: Whenever a person has sudden (or fairly rapid) tummy pain plus tummy swelling, and is not the usual tummy ache followed by pooping, we get a bit worried. Especially if there seems no reason for the pain, we worry that there might be a malrotation or some other transient twisting or other abnormal positioning of the intestine. One can talk with her doctor, and some xray studies might be needed.
