Good Hygiene Always: Good hygiene practices are always necessary and important to prevent spread of infection. As with any other foods, bacteria can thrive in breast milk too if left unrefrigerated. Bacteria on your skin can also grow in leaked milk. Recommend cleanse your nipples with mild soap/water after feedings, wear breast pads to absorb leakage, change to clean pads after each feeding and between if needed.
