Seek opinion: Interesting set of circumstances. If your Dentist has not been able to put his finger on the cause, perhaps an oral trauma expert, an Oral Surgeon, should be consulted.

Night guard injury: Night guards should not cause lip trauma or any soreness. When they do, it is often because they are not fitting correctly. See your dentist for evaluation, adjustment or new night guard fabrication.
