Pleurisy: You don't give any details but irritation of the lung lining due to any number of things could cause this. You should be examined and probably have an x-ray, ESPECIALLY if you are a smoker or are over 40. It could I suppose also be gall bladder, especially if you can reproduce the pain by pressing up under your rib cage.

?hernia: This does sound like a muscular discomfort, but it could be due to a small inguinal hernia. I recommend an examination by a general surgeon.
