"normal": Pain that occurs as a consequence of tissue injury or intense noxious (tissue-damaging) stimulation is essential for the survival of the organism. The site of injury and the immediate surrounding area becomes a source of pain. This pain is considered "normal" and physiologic and is associated with an inflammatory response that is part of the healing process. Sorry for your incident.
