Proof may be coming: If a pregnant woman visited or lives in an area where Zika virus transmission has happened or is possible, and she has or had Zika-like symptoms, she can get tested, and her baby fetus checked by ultrasound. If a woman has no symptoms but an ultrasound shows a small head or calcium spots in the brain, she can also get tested. As of January 2016, researchers are still gathering evidence about Zika.
