More varied & water: You could eat it every day. The general recommendation is to have food for at least three days and water. You may be better served by having cereal, nuts, dry fruit, granola bars etc and bottled water.

Yes: I have no reason to doubt whether carnation instant breakfast mix is unsuited as emergency disaster food. If nothing else are available , carnation instant breakfast mix should be able to keep you alive for several days and more. In a long run, however, certain cautions are needed, such as excessive sugar content for daibetic patients, etc.

Breakfast On The Go!: Good day; You probably could survive on a daily dose of Carnation Instant Breakfast; however, a banana or an apple with a cereal bar could work as well. Try varying your breakfast choices - breakfast gives you morning fuel power!!

You could do better.: You can stay alive on it for a short while. However, with the same amount of time and expense, you could do better. Plan a variety, eat healthier and live happier for longer.

Mixes with milk: Carnation Instant Breakfast, at least in my area, is meant to be mixed with milk. That wouldn't be very good in an emergency. Think clean water and refrigeration.

Eat rice and beans: All over the world, people eat rice and beans as a complete protein and excellent source of antioxidants and vitamins. Choose canned or dried beans and rice for great shelf life and excellent nutrition in disaster and every day.

A couple problems: Carnation Instant Breakfast is not meant to be a sole source of nutrition. From their website: "not designed to provide sole-source nutrition. Although each 8 fl ozis rich in protein and provides 21 vitamins and minerals, it does not provide sufficient levels of essential nutrients including chromium, molybdenum and selenium".It would serve as a meal, but where will you get the milk in a disaster?

Yes: The body can handle it quite well for at least a month or two. In case there is no other option, any food energy source is acceptable during a disaster.

Not enough: People need a mixture of nutrients and hydration. A typical day should include 24 to 48 oz of water, 20 grams of protein, 15 grams of fat, and 30 grams of carbs. We also need water, potassium, sodium. A minimum of 15 calories of food per pound of body weight--you should plan for enough for three days at least. And if you are going to be expending energy, like work, double the amount.

Yes: I see no reason why you couldn't, but you may have to boil your water before using it if public health agency issues a warning about your drinking water being contaminated.

Instantfood disaster: 32 M US asks: Is packing Carnation Instant Breakfast mix good enough for emergency disaster food? Could I eat it every day? ANS: yes but do you need clear water to mix and need to heat it up? if so and no elect or water big problem. Recommend purchasing some survival packages that will do you good for 5 days. And store water. Be prepared.
