A 34-year-old female asked:
I've noticed every time i eat oatmeal for breakfast, i feel bloated/gassy afterward all day or for a good part of the day and sometimes even have an upset stomach. other high-fiber foods don't have that effect. could that indicate an allergy to oats?

Digestion/Gluten:
Gluten insensitivity can cause these symptoms. If it's only oats, just avoid them. If it is a problem with other cereals (wheat, rye, barley ) you should follow up with a gastroenterologist.
