Trismus, see DDS: Trismus also called spasm of the jaw muscles is related to dental infections and must be evaluated by your dentist.

Not likely: Cause of your "closed lock" is TMJ dysfunction. The disc between the upper and lower halves of your jaw joint has slipped out of position. You must have diseased tooth removed or infection will spread. You must have dysfunctional joint treated or it will continue to deteriorate. Put down the computer, pick up the phone, call your Dentist. Your problems will not self-heal. You need help.

See DDS don't delay: An inability to open one's mouth can be a sign of a serious dental infection. If it is the cause the infection is spreading beyond the tooth into the tissues of your face. This needs to be addressed immediately.

See a dentist: See a dentist for an evaluation. They may be able to solve your problem or they will know who to refer you to. You may have more than one problem.
