No limit : There is no true limit on time. If it is just begging on the disease- may be first attack - can happen with in couple hrs, however, as disease progresses pain can become more constant. Fatty foods trigger it at first, later - any type of food may trigger the symptoms. If pain is bad, see a surgeon for further discussion.
