Protein S testing: Protein S testing typically is done prior to pregnancy because the testing is unreliable during pregnancy. There is a clotting disorder called Protein S deficiency that can be diagnosed when levels are low in the non pregnant state. Treatment is usually Lovenox (enoxaparin) or Heparin.
