Protein S testing: Protein S testing typically is done prior to pregnancy because the testing is unreliable during pregnancy. There is a clotting disorder called Protein S deficiency that can be diagnosed when levels are low in the non pregnant state. Treatment is usually Lovenox (enoxaparin) or Heparin. Discuss your specific case with your obgyn to determine the next steps.
