A member asked:

Normal to still find blood in urine (non hemolysis, dipsticks) 8 days after stopping antibiotics (for a possible cystitis, no infection diagnosed)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Its never normal to have blood in your urine. However, sometimes it can be contaminant from period blood. The best thing to do is to repeat it down the road. If you have persistent microscopic blood in your urine, this needs to be worked up. It can be caused by kidney stones, bladder polyps or, more rarely, even bladder cancer. Best wishes!
