Is knee replacement surgery the solution for me for having a chronic arthritis that lately i cannot walk for more than 2 blocks?

Orthopaedics consult: 26 year old gentleman with history of knee pain, community ambulatory only up to 2 blocks. You need to visit an orthopaedic surgeon immediately. At age 26, you may have post traumatic arthritis but probably not osteoarthritis. Assistive devices and orthotics can help your mobility if it is limited by pain. A full exam by an ortho surgeon with imaging will determine if surgery is appropriate.

Arthritis: Replacement is the last resort. Knee injections, topical applicants, oral medication, PT should be tried. As a last resort Stem Cell / PRP may be tried (not FDA approved) (Insurance usually does not pay) as a cash pay may be worth while looking into.
