2 years: Normally every 2 years. If you keep up with your Perio maintenance than normally it is recommended to have a deep cleaning every two years. A Perio maintenance is basically cleaning your teeth just not as profound as a deep cleaning and usually does not require anesthesia. Hope that helps.

Scaling procedure: You can get a scaling and root planing procedure when you have active periodontal disease in the deep pockets. It is based on need not time intervals. A periodontal maintenance procedure is done for patients who have periodontal disease and pockets. The hygienist will clean the toxins and debris from the deep pockets and review your status with you.

Every 12 -24 month: Gum disease can be treated and often cured, but may require regular maintenance visits, usually every 3 months and proper home care.
