Skin carcinogens: The most common cause of skin cancer is exposure to uv radiation. Chemicals that cause skin cancer include chronic exposure to arsenicals and some industrial solvents.

There are many: There are hundreds of chemicals which are capable of causing cancers (for a good list go to the american cancer society website) but most of the chemicals associated with skin cancer aren't "harsh" like acids. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons like coal tar, soot, creosote, motor oil and paraffin wax can cause cancer. The most common cause of skin cancer is sun followed by smoking!
