A member asked:

Terminal deoxynucleotid transferase what is this is there a normal range ? i know it was found in bone marrow test..

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Terminal transferase: Terminal transferase (TdT) is a template independent polymerase that catalyzes addition of deoxynucleotides to the 3' hydroxyl terminus of DNA . Protruding, recessed or blunt-ended double or single-stranded DNA molecules serve as a substrate for TdT. This molecule is a specialized DNA polymerase expressed in immature, pre-B, pre-T lymphoid cells during mAb gene recombination.
