Burning nylon: Don't do it again. Fumes from burning nylon probably didn't do your liver any favors, but overall it will handle it OK, if this is the only insult. The cough says your lungs and bronchi weren't too happy either, but likely no lasting damage. Don't smoke cigarettes and you'll really be ahead of the game.
