A member asked:

I am severely vitamin d deficient. levels are 8. what does this mean for me health wise?

Bone health, plus..: You need Vit D to absorb calcium, and low Vit D is associated with bone disease; rickets in its most severe form. This is very common since most of us don't get good sun exposure. Low Vit D is also associated with obesity, diabetes, depression, heart disease, muscle problems and many other things, but the precise "cause/effect" is not clear.
