Remove newborn from: room. Try a solution of warm soapy water and vinegar to remove black mold; however, commercial mildew products are not safe for newborns.

Mgt: I would advise cleaning the area with bleach, and having a professional service to look at baseboards and behind the drywall. In the meantime, finding alternate housing can hep to reduce exposure.

It's more important: ...what you do than what level of fear you should have. The exposure has already happened. The infant needs to be removed from the room ASAP. You need to find out if other parts of the house are affected. Also, please let the pediatrician know about this. You must get a mold abatement specialist to come and assess your home environment ASAP.
