I have an extremely sore throat and i'm finding it hard to swallow solids or liquids, my temperature also keeps going from hot to cold.

Sore throat: sounds like you have pharyngitis (painful infected throat) or tonsilitis. You can try some liquid tylenol (acetaminophen) for the pain and if not better soon, see your phyisician

See your Family Doc: Medical term for sore throat is pharyngitis. Most cases of pharyngitis are caused by viruses which will not respond to antibiotics. Only Strep throat, a bacterial form of pharyngitis, needs antibiotics. One way to determine which is which is via Centor criteria. Check out http://www.mdcalc.com/modified-centor-score-for-strep-pharyngitis/. In meantime, acetaminophen & NSAIDs can help temporarily.
