What can cause left side pain in the back of the neck. not muscular. movement doesn't make it better or worse but leaning forward causes more pressure?

Neck pain: Sounds like an inflammatory reaction of one of the cervical roots; also a pinched nerve in the side of pain also may cause it. Try some Motrin for a few days. If symptoms continue and/or weakness, tingling, numbness appear on the affected side in the arm, fingers- see doctor asap.
