Perhaps: An inner ear infection is extraordinarily rare and is either from meningitis or acute otitis media that has spread, to the inner ear causing deafness and profound vertigo. If you really did have an inner ear infection i would expect you to, have these and other symptoms such as deafness. Mild dizziness and tinnitus are common in otitis media and usually resolve as the fluid behind the drum resolves.
