Treat swollen sore throat with warm throat irrigations.: ZPereira, Your strep throat has been cleared but the swelling continues. Because of this I recommend warm throat irrigations. To do this in the kitchen people usually have a spray in the kitchen sink. Spray this in the back of the throat with as warm water as you can stand for one minute every hour. The swelling and the redness and the soreness will usually go away after two or three irrigation
