Brbpr : If you have bright red blood in your stool , it is probably from your colon or rectum. Blood from high up in the intestines or stomach often causes dark tarry stools. You need an exam from a physician to look for causes of the bleeding. If you have significant pain or vomit blood go to the ER please. https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003130.htm
