No: It is rather the opposite, asthma means chronic inflammation of the airways, whether that inflammation is due to an allergen or not , yet to be determined by testing. Chronic inflammation leads to increased sectetion of the mucus glands in the airways causing the increased sputum production and further narrowing of the airways.
