Diagnosed with sciatica yesterday. on percocet, flexeril, (cyclobenzaprine hcl) toradol, and prednisone. why does the percocet make me "speedy" even when i take one 5mg?

Sciatica: I understand your distress. You are taking 2 antiinflammatory medications-Toradol and Prednisone. Percocet is narcotic for pain, it may cause restlessness and agitation. See Orthopedic Physician , have MRI to find exact source of symptoms, bulging or herniated disc; discuss need for specific medications, dose and side effects, need for Percocet or other pain medications, PT ; follow up

Dopamine release: As an opiate pain medication, Percocet causes dopamine release in addition to blocking pain signals, and the dopamine causes a sensation of euphoria. The most effective treatments for sciatica are gently progressive stretching exercises and anti-inflammatory medication. Naproxen is preferred over Toradol. The other 3 are helpful in some situations but dubiously beneficial in the long term.
