Side-effects: Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) side-effects can include urinary difficulty, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and other symptoms. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, even back pain, i suggest you discontinue its use.

Only new med?: If the Flexeril is the only new med or change in your diet then this could be the cause of your constipation. You have two options. One is to stop the Flexeril and the other is to stay on it and treat the constipation. This can be treated with dietary fiber and increasing liquids. Laxatives like senna and stool softeners like colace (docusate sodium) can also help. The back pain may be due to the constipation.
