Hmmm: First, please stop bending that finger backwards! If there is a break (which I doubt) you could displace it or make it worse. Breaks typically hurt a bit, most of the time "jammed fingers" are usually just sprains and sometimes minor fractures. If the fracture is small it is typically managed similarly to a sprain. RICE therapy. Some breaks do need more management, but not typically. bmednyc.com

Finger trauma: It sounds like you jammed your finger a few days ago and had some pain that improved. That is a good sign. The important thing after a serious injury is to allow a physician to assess and ensure that blood flow and sensation to your digit are intact.
