For : For finger pain, taking advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) is usually helpful. Elevating as much as possible helps the pain also. Wearing a splint or protective dressing on the finger (these are available at the market or pharmacy) can keep it from getting banged into by everything. If a patient had swelling, redness, or could not move it fully then the finger should be assessed by a doctor.
