Is anafrinal safe to use in a cardiac patient with 2 stents?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Anafranil (clomipramine) does carry cardiac risk. It can prolong the QT interval putting one at risk of dangerous heart rhythms. A recent heart attack&AV BLOCK are known listed contraindications to using it. Common cardiac side effects are tachycardia, less common side effects include arrhythmias. And more rare side effects include low platelets, which may be an issue if on antiplatelet meds. Hope this helps
