A member asked:

How rare is a retinal detachment or tear? i'm only 18 and terrifed incase this ever happens to me

Do not worry: You are young if you do not have any risk factor then you should relax. Risk factors: family history, high myopia, lattice degeneration, eye trauma , prior eye surgery. Symptoms: floaters, flashes of light and lost of peripheral vision. If the person examined and treated on time there is less issue with loss of vision
