A member asked:

How probable is a retinal tear/detachment. please help me.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fairly rare: Do you have symptoms suggestive of a retinal tear or detachment? If so, get a complete eye exam immediately to rule these out. Symptoms include a new onset of floaters or flashing lights in the vision, a loss of vision, a loss of peripheral vision, a sensation of a curtain coming over the vision, "cobwebs" in the vision, etc. Retinal tears and detachments are otherwise rare but treatable.
