A member asked:

I cut my finger with a clean can, it was bleeding but the it has healed and stopped bleeding. i have cleaned it but do i need to worry about tetanus ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A cut is a cut: Tetanus is possible when a cut on the skin is contaminated by tetanus spores that are all around us but predominantly in soils. It doesn't matter what made the cut if the exposure comes after the skin is open. If you have not had a booster in the past 10 yrs now is a good time to get caught up.If you have, tetanus is not an issue.
