Question not clear: Alternating dry and watery eyes could come from either eyelid hygiene issues or allergies or lack of adequate breaks from computer use or a combination of these. Try a program of cleaning the eyelashes well with warm washcloth daily, get plenty of sleep, stay away from irritants like smoke and sunlight. If symptoms persist see an eye doctor.

How can I differentiate pink eye from allergic red eyes?

2 doctor answers5 doctors weighed in
Dr. Alex Martinez
Specializes in Allergy
Itching: Both pink eye (a highly contagious infection most often caused by viruses) and allergy eyes can be red, have copious amounts of drainage, and be mattered shut in the mornings. Itching may be the best way to differentiate between the two. Itch is a hallmark for allergic reactions; not much else involves the eyes, ears, nose, and throat like allergies. A doctor can help tell the difference too.

Yes: A simple blood test is available to check if someone carries the trait responsible for many forms of the hereditary type of breast cancer. The brca test should only be performed on those at high risk, and only after counseling by a specialist in hereditary diseases. In general, if you have two close relatives with breast or ovarian cancer, especially at an early age, you may qualify.

Eye pain: Eye pain can be caused by many entities-- dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, corneal abrasions are common causes-- viral conjunctivitis can also cause eye pain-- if artificial tears do not help, you should see an ophthalmologist to have the eyes checked.
