A member asked:

While on long haul flight, i experienced problems with my eyes - red, dry, pain, discomfort, & blurry vision both far & near. settled day after. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Air flight = dry air: The conditioned air on airplanes is quite dry and poses a tendency to get dry eyes for most people. If you combine that with contact lens wear, lack of sleep, and long haul, there can be significant drying. The symptoms you describe are consistent with that.
