Pre-excitation: Some patients maybe born with a bypass tract or accessory tract. An extra pathway for electricity in the heart that might make one susceptible to abnormal heart rhythms. A detailed evaluation by a cardiologist is necessary to further assess and if needed referral to an electrophysiologist. A history of palpitations, rapid heart rate or syncope may indicate the short PR is significant.
