I have a sharp pain that comes and goes where appendicitis usually hurts. i suffer from ibs. ive had this pain before but always worried for appendix

Appendicitis: although I can't diagnose the actual cause of your right lower quadrant pain on the small bit of information given here, it is unlikely to be appendicitis if the pain comes and goes over time. Usually appendicitis does not get better spontaneously. Regardless, if it persists, you should see your doctor or a gastroenterologist to sort it out. Good luck.

May be not: If this is an appendicitis, its gets over few hours to a day, if you had this pain for a longer duration, you don't need to worry for appendicitis. May be something else is causing the pain.
