Could be better: The reason for not smoking after oral surgery is to avoid raising oral temperature and to decrease further infection potential. Is a good reason to quit right now, if not , try sips of a cold mouth wash afterwards.

No: First of all you should wait at least a week to smoke. Smoking delays healing and may even contribute to dry socket infection. Second, it's never OK to smoke. It's just not logical to think that you can engage in behavior that can cause severe health problems, even death, and expect to escape unscathed. You have not smoked in a few days. Keep quitting one day at a time. We're rooting for you

Not recommended: Stop smoking as soon as possible after the day of surgery. Smoking is enormously harmful to your site surgery healing and for general health. Talking with your doctor about your physical and emotional concerns can help you find the best way for you to quit.
