Not necessary: Maybe a food particle. A blood clot that formed on the extraction site is vital to the healing process. To keep the clot intact, avoid touching the extraction site with your finger, tongue or toothbrush. you should carefully follow your dentist's instructions to prevent a dry socket. Rec.: call your dentist for post-op appointment.
