Color Change.: The cause of purple/blackish discoloration of both great toes with no pain is either environmental, possibly dye from shoes, or it's from bruising. Some types of trauma are not readily realized until after the bruise is seen. Since it on both toes, it is related to either your shoes or a certain activity performed by both great toes. Expect further color changes of blue, green and yellow.
