Should see doc: Many types of rash present in this way. If completely new, then my initial thoughts would be hives vs fungal infection vs contact allergy. Taking a short acting Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (antihistamine) may improve the itching, which would be indicative of hives. These would be most likely to persist (come and go) for 3-10 days. If so, then begin a longer acting med like cetirizine. OTC antifungal if scaling rash
