Herpes testing: Testing for HSV-2 is indicated when you have a partner who is positive for HSV-2. Are you having symptoms? I can have you tested & treated. I can also have you tested for HIV and other STDs. I recommend you have your partner get testing as well if she is unsure. I can also prescribe Valacyclovir for her to reduce the risk of transmission. I treat patients in New York State only. Good luck.
